Our 2 Year Wedding Anniversary! (MIMM)

Today Rob and I are celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary! Well, technically we celebrated over the weekend because who really has time to do anything fun on a Monday? I’m planning to share some of the fun stuff we did later in the week, but for today I thought I would share some wedding pictures, since I didn’t have a blog back then.

Sunday night was spent watching our wedding video, which is always entertaining! I also dug up our wedding website, and it was the first time I have looked at it since we were engaged! This was my first effort at a website before the days of blogging!

If you are married, when is your anniversary?

Did you make a wedding website?

What is your favorite part about weddings?

Thanks, Katie, for hosting “Marvelous in my Monday”!

  1. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Love all of the pics … and it is really so much fun looking back through all of the wedding stuff. Glad you guys had a great anniversary weekend … enjoy whatever time you have today. :)

It must have also been fun looking back at your wedding site – I hope it stays around, and I would definitely recommend backing it up so that if it goes away it isn’t lost.

We were an August wedding, and very fortunate with weather – it could have been so hot, but it wasn’t. We did have a video made, which was just becoming a ‘thing’ back then, and Lisa had it transferred to DVD a couple of years back so we can keep it around.

As for website … well, there wasn’t a ‘web’ yet when we were married … there weren’t even digital cameras yet! Registration was really just getting more widespread – because the thought of being registered at a store with national reach was pretty new … most stores back then if you were registered it was at THAT store only! Another things we take for granted with technology!

    • It’s so interesting to think of how the development of technology has impacted weddings! I can’t imagine not having an online registry now. I also have a feeling that more and more people will end up going to an electronic style of RSVP.
I should figure out how to back up the website, that’s a good idea!

  2. Congrats on 2 years! It’s fun looking at all the pictures, they’re fabulous :) We never did a wedding website and went pretty simple overall for our wedding. Come to think of it I’m sure neither of us were savvy enough to create any sort of website back then, we’re a little slow! Have a great day and hope you had a great celebration!

    • Thanks! I had no idea what I was doing with the website either, but luckily there were templates that made it pretty simple.

  3. Aww Happy Anniversary! Such beautiful pictures. I got married in November too, a wonderful time of year for a wedding. My favorite part about wedding is of course, the food. People still talk about my wedding for the food (and music and flowers but the point here is the food lol)…I made sure to have like ten different kinds of chocolate cakes because, well, it was my wedding. And I love watching wedding videos! My son used to watch mine on repeat when he was like two.

    • November is a great month for weddings! We also made sure to have good food… I loved going to the tastings before to pick out what we wanted! Of course choosing a cake was fun too:) That is so cute that your son watched your wedding video at such a young age!

    • Thank you! The proposal was perfect (for me) but its definitely not for everyone! I was really glad that we got to spend the next few days together celebrating.

  4. You were a beautiful bride and you are a beautiful girl inside and out with a good head on your shoulders. Congratulations for making a successful marriage and life together because that’s what it is all about really. The weddings are usually great but the life we create and live from then on together as a couple is what really signifies success and beauty or not unfortunately for some. You have made a real, sincere and genuine life together as you show through tidbits on your blog. May your lives together always be full of health, love and happiness always. Happy Anniversary to you both.

    • Thank you! That is so important to remember. The wedding is just one day but the marriage is forever!

    • Thank you! And yep I went to Towson for grad school! I never really felt like I “went” there because being a grad student I felt pretty removed from the college life.

  5. Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful day. Alex and I are at 1.5 ish right now. I hope that you have a fantastic day and really get some time in later to celebrate your relationship. OOOh and i can’t wait to hear what you decided to do!
Our wedding website was a little bit of a joke, to be honest…. But all the important stuff was there!

    • Thanks! It’s pretty crazy how fast the first two years have gone.
You know, I put a good amount of work into our website but I don’t even think a lot of people looked at it.It probably got more hits from posting the link on my blog than it did the year I got married:)

    • Thank you! We also did a version of the picture with the signs where you can’t see me and texted it to my husband before the ceremony:)

    • Thank you!! We sent a version of that picture to Rob before the ceremony:) The proposal was great, but the best part was being able to go on vacation for a few days right after we got engaged!

    • Thanks friend! I hope that your planning is going well and I can’t wait to hear all about it in a few weeks!!

    • Oh no, you should totally try to track down that video! It’s so fun to watch! We watched it when we first got it about 2 months after the wedding, and then on our 1 and 2 year anniversaries. Every time we watch it we notice something different that we missed the other times!

  6. Beautiful pictures. I really like the one with you both on opposite sides of the door…too cute.
Happy Anniversary. I have been married for 22 years–yeah, there weren’t wedding websites then! Or accessible digital cameras…or blogs…too funny. Now I feel really old. LOl.

    • Thank you! Isn’t it crazy how technology has changed the process of weddings and wedding planning? 22 years is amazing!!

  7. Aww! Gorgeous photos. Congrats to you guys! Weddings are always a blast, but I think my favorite part is watching the couple walk out after the ceremony – nothing cuter than watching newlyweds beaming with happiness. = )

    • It really does go so fast! We have been together for almost 10 years, and I can’t believe how fast that has gone!

    • Thanks! And congrats on 26 years, that is amazing! I’m sure things were much different without the technology…and I think there are pros and cons to all of it! There is something to be said for simplicity…

    • Thanks! You should really try to find your website! Michael commented that I should back mine up, which is a good idea, but I don’t know how to do that:) I’m not sure if they get deleted at some point. Hope you guys make some fun plans for celebrating 5 years!

  8. Congratulations! Your photos are beautiful!

Not married yet… I’ve just started on the wedding planning and am a little nervous about it. There’s just so much to keep track of! I am now so in awe of people who can pull off beautiful weddings like yours.

    • You will do great! I used the knot to track everything I had to do. I also gave myself a year to plan everything so I never felt rushed. Just make sure that it becomes and day for you and your fiancé, and it will be wonderful!

  9. Happy Anniversary!! Gorgeous pictures! I think I did do a wedding website, through the Knot.com or something, but I couldn’t tell you where it is now. I was a May bride, it will be 9 years next year. Oh my.

    Congrats again!

    • Thanks! I think that my website was through the knot too. There is a way to search for wedding websites on the knot but I think the search feature goes away after a certain amount of time. You could always try googling it:)

    • Thank you! I definitely recommend watching your wedding video! Every time I watch it I notice something different, and each time brings back so many great memories of that day!

  10. Hey all, I’m Jon! I have a very strong passion for cinema and photography. My art is a reflection of how I witness the moments on your wedding day. I concentrate on shooting the special moments and pride my self on the ability to choose and edit the very best of them. Your wedding day is THE most special day of your life, so much time and attention is invested into it which means your photographer or videographer must capture every detail you desire.
